Today Netflix officially announced that actor Song Seung Heon will be joining the latest Korean series titled Black Knight. This series depicts the state of the world in 2071 which is full of air pollution, so humans must wear respirator masks to breathe. In the midst of the chaos, Black Knight follows a legendary “5-8” delivery driver who is proficient in combat and a refugee named “Sawol” who wants to follow in his footsteps.
In this series, Song Seung Heon will join a line of other well-known players including Kim Woo-bin, Esom and Kang You-seok. Song himself is well known for his various roles in Voice Season 4, Dinner Mate, The Player, Black, and Saimdang, Memoir of Colors. In 2002, he starred in Choi Ui-seok’s directorial debut Make It Big, and now the two are collaborating again for Black Night.
Song will take on the role of Ryu Seok, a curious criminal and the sole heir of the Chun-myung Group — a conglomerate that monopolizes oxygen supply to rule a world that desperately needs respirators. With the joining of Song, it is not surprising that the Black Knight will be increasingly awaited by world audiences.
