Actress who recently appeared in Prisones of the Ghostland, Sofia Boutella (Star Trek: Beyond, Atomic Blonde, Kingsman: The Secret Service) is rumored to be starring in Zack Snyder’s new sci-fi action adventure film entitled Rebel Moon. The film will launch on Netflix under a new deal between the filmmaker and Netflix.
Boutella known for his roles in films Kingsman: The Secret Serviceis an actress who has been involved in several well-known films such as Mummy, Atomic Blondeand Fahrenheit 451. Deadline says that Boutella impressed Snyder so much during tests for the role that the decision to cast him as the film’s lead was quick and easy.
Rebel Moon will be directed by Snyder, who co-wrote the script with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. This project is based on a story developed by Snyder and Johnstad. The film will tell the story around a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy who then find that they are threatened by an invasion from an army led by the tyrant Regent Balisarius. The colony then sends a young woman with a mysterious past to recruit warriors from neighboring plants to help them fight Balisarius and his troops.
The announcement for a new Snyder film was made after the success of Army of the Dead. Zack and Deborah Snyder’s production company, The Stone Quarry, sealed a deal with Netflix and Snyder called the project the next big job soon after Army. Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, and Snyder will be working as co-producers with Eric Newman.
