VIVA – The Indonesian badminton team will soon leave for Malaysia to take part in the 2022 Badminton Asian Team Championship (BATC) which will take place in Selangor on 15-20 February 2022. They depart on Monday, 7 February 2022.
PBSI dispatched as many as 20 male and female athletes to participate in this tournament. All of them are young badminton players with the aim of improving their skills and increasing their flying hours as well as their mental experience.
Despite fielding young players, the Red and White team is ready to appear prime and optimistic about defending the title. Team manager Aryono Miranat said, “Indonesia’s strength is good enough to compete in the 2022 BATC even though the preparation time is quite short.
“Although the preparations are short, only about three weeks, the Indonesian team is ready to fight at BATC. With the strength of young players, we are ready to compete with other countries,” said Aryono in a press statement received by PBSI. VIVA.
“We ask for the prayers and support of the Indonesian people so that they can achieve as expected,” added the man who is also the assistant coach of the main men’s doubles coach at Cipayung National Training Center.
Women’s singles player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung added that she was ready to take on the task of spearheading the Indonesian women’s team. “My friends and I are also ready to compete. Our preparation is also sufficient to compete in BATC,” said Gregoria.
