Shazam Prime Promotion! Fury of the Gods Reveals Villains and Greater Action

Even though all this time the director David F. Sandberg often share information about movies Shazam! Fury of the Gods, from the behind-the-scenes stories to some “teasing” about the film, fans don’t know much more about the DC/WB sequel. But now through the virtual DC FanDome event, fans can finally get a glimpse of Shazam 2 through a video released by the studio.

This promo features interviews with the main cast of the film as well as with the director. In addition they also featured the two main villains of this film, Hespera, and Kalypso, played by Hellen Mirren and Lucy Liu. Some of the “furous” behind-the-scenes scenes and some scary creatures that will be present in the film are also featured in this promo video.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will feature the return of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson and Shazam. The film will also highlight the return of Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s best friend, Freddy. Djimon Honsou will also return as the wizard Shazam. Meanwhile, new star duo Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu will play the evil daughters of Atlas, Hespera, and Kalypso. Both Hespera and Kalypso may not be that popular in the DC world, but both characters are definitely from Greek mythology, daughter of Atlas. This is especially relevant because of the power of Shazam.

While the “adult/superhero” version of Billy Baston’s adoptive family is played by Adam Brody: as Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as Darla Dudley, DJ Cotrona as Pedro Peña, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, and Ross Butler as Eugene Choi.

So far, Warner Bros. and New Line have retained most of the team in front of and behind the camera from the first film. In addition to David F. Sandberg who returns to the director’s chair, Henry Gayden will write the screenplay and Petar Safran will also return as producer.

FYI, movies Shazam! first hit theaters on April 5, 2019 and grossed $364.6 million worldwide, with $140.4 million coming from North America and $224.2 million from overseas markets. The film is an origin story starring Zachary Levi as the DC superhero, along with Asher Angel as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong as super villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
