According to different rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was launched with a special S Pen slot and is priced at IDR 17.2 million.
Samsung tonight (9/2) rolls out the Galaxy Unpacked 2022, and launches its lineup smartphone flagship of the Galaxy S22 series. As usual, the company launched 3 lines from this series, namely the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. Apart from the first two variants, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the main star tonight.
Carrying the slogan Break the Rules, Samsung brings the leading innovation to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. For the first time in the Galaxy S series, Samsung has pinned a dedicated S Pen slot on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. As is known, Samsung previously only provided S Pen support for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, without providing a special slot.
“The Galaxy S22 is ultra simple and striking, adapting the iconic design from the Galaxy Note,” said Drew Black, VP of US Mobile Product Management at Samsung. “Today we are excited to introduce the first Galaxy S series model with a built-in S Pen. Our engineers and developers cleverly incorporated this pen into the hardware itself while maintaining smartphone performance.”
The presence of a special S Pen slot certainly changes the iconic design of the series. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is increasingly looking to adopt the design of the Galaxy Note, as Drew said. The frame is curved and the S Pen slot is in the lower left corner smartphone.
The ability of the S Pen on the Galaxy S22 Ultra is also improved from its predecessor. Drew explained, screen smartphone 3x more responsive to the S Pen. Improvements have also occurred in terms of AI, where single point prediction and multipoint predictionit now works better, so writing or drawing with the S Pen feels smoother.
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects the front and back of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The screen that supports S Pen is 6.8 inches with 2x Dynamic AMOLED panel and refresh rate which supports from 1Hz to 120Hz. Durability is also considered in terms of material smartphone which uses the Aluminum Frame Armor.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in 4 colors, namely Burgundy, Phantom Black, Phantom White, and Green. This new smartphone will be available on February 25, but can be pre-ordered from today on Samsung.com, at a price of USD 1,199 or around Rp. 17.2 million. In addition, there is no information on when the Galaxy S22 series will be marketed in Indonesia.
