Ryan Reynolds Is Involved In A Time Travel Adventure In The New Trailer Of The Adam Project

Netflix just released the first official trailer and new poster for their upcoming sci-fi drama, The Adam Projectstarring Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo. This film is one of the streamer’s flagship titles, starring Reynolds, having previously appeared on 6 Underground and Red Notice last year. The film also marks the second collaboration between Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, which was quite successful in 2021 with Free Guy.

The new trailer teases the nostalgia-heavy tone that Levy has perfected over her years as a filmmaker. We also get to see some great action set-pieces, including a chase scene in the woods and a battle scene outside the lodge. While the trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the plot of the film — we do know that Adam will have to recruit his younger self, as the future is under threat and one of Adam’s main missions is to stop time travel from being discovered.

In the film, Reynolds plays Adam Reed, with Walker Scobell playing the 13-year-old incarnation of Reed’s character. The younger Adam, still mourning the sudden death of his father (Ruffalo) a year earlier, walks into his garage one night to find the injured pilot who turns out to be his older self. The pair team up to go on an adventure into the past to find their father, fix things, and save the world.

The Adam Project has been an interesting project for Reynolds, who also produced the film. This is the fourth film he has produced, after Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Free Guy. The last one is a collaboration with Shawn Levy, who happens to be the director of this time travel film. Reynolds recently shared that the film is a “wrenching, funny story and will feature massive action scenes.

The Adam Project

Apart from Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo, The Adam Project will also be enlivened by Catherine Keener, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, Alex Mallari Jr. and Walker Scobell. Filming for this film previously started in November 2020 and finished last March 2021. Netflix took over the film from Paramount, where it was originally announced in October 2012 with Tom Cruise starring, with the title Our Name is Adam.
