Russia Invades Ukraine, European Union Provides Financial Assistance for Ukrainian Military | tvonenews.com

Nurnberg – For the first time in history, the European Union will assist the purchase and delivery of arms worth 450 million euros to Ukraine. Previously, the European Union had never sent weapons to countries in conflict.

The European Union’s arms program, which was approved just Sunday (27/2/2022) will be funded through the European Peace Facility, according to Deutsche Welle.

The program was launched in conjunction with the imposition of EU sanctions on Russian commercial aviation, Russian media and the Belarusian economy.

The European Union countries that have participated in providing weapons assistance to Ukraine are:

1. Sweden, a member of the European Union but not a member of NATO and always in a neutral position in global conflicts, will send 5,000 anti-tank guns, 5,000 military helmets, 5,000 protective suits and 135,000 ration packages for military members on the ground, plus 50 million in funds USD for the Ukrainian military.

2. Denmark will send 2,700 anti-tank guns and allow volunteers to join international forces to help Ukrainian troops.

3. Belgium will send 3,000 automatic weapons and 200 anti-tank grenade launchers.

4. Hungary promised to send 100,000 liters of fuel and 28 tons of food. ((Miranti Hirschmann/ito)
