Robert Pattinson Targeted to Star in Film Director Bong Joon Ho

Bong Joon Ho is reportedly ready to direct a science fiction film based on Edward Ashton’s unpublished novel, Mickey7. Robert Pattinson is said to be starring in the film.

Quoted from Deadline, Bong Joon Ho will not only direct the film, but also write the script. Robert Pattinson is in talks to star as the main character of the film.

Mickey7 tells the story of Mickey, a man who joins an expedition team on a dangerous mission. Every time there is a mission that requires them to risk their lives, the crew entrusts the mission to Mickey.

After one mission claimed his life, a new body was regenerated with most of his memories still intact. After six deaths, Mickey begins to understand the purpose of his mission.

Plan B will participate in the production of Mickey7 while Warner Bros. is responsible as distributor. Regarding this news, there is still no confirmation from Robert Pattinson or Bong Joon Ho.

Meanwhile, Bong Joon Ho is currently preparing for two Korean films. Success with Parasite, the director is back working with Barunson E&A, which previously produced the Oscar-winning film.

Not only that, Bong Joon Ho is also said to be preparing to produce a Korean animated film. The film is called the theme of the relationship between humans and living things that live at the bottom of the ocean.

Prior to his success with Parasite, Bong Joon Ho had already stolen attention through popular South Korean films. These include The Host, Snowpiercer, and Okja.

He also won various prestigious awards in South Korea through these films, including Best Film at the Baeksang Arts Awards for The Host and Parasite to Best Film at the Korean Film Awards for Memories of Murder and The Host.
