VIVA – Former PBSI Pelatnas coach, Richard Mainaky accompanies three mixed doubles PB Djarum, including Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti in preparation for the 2022 All England Open Super 1000 tournament.
Apart from Praveen/Melati, the person who also serves as Technical Advisor for PB Djarum also accompanied Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Marsheilla Gischa Islami who were both in preparation for their European tour.
In the official website of PB Djarum, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Richard, who currently lives in Manado, North Sulawesi, flew to Kudus, Central Java to accompany Praveen Jordan and his friends in preparation for approximately two weeks.
Richard said the mentoring process was more about mental strengthening and providing motivation. He hopes that the three pairs who will go and compete in the All England and Super 300 German Open (8-13 March) and Super 300 Swiss Open (22-27 March) can perform optimally.

“What I do to them is more to motivate them. As well as see what is still lacking in preparation,” said Richard Mainaky.
“Because this is their first tournament after being relegated from national training. Although it doesn’t look like it from the outside, I’m sure that deep in their hearts they feel sad, they can’t believe it’s possible because they were relegated in their ranking, which is still good,” Richard added.
