These three talented musicians also talked about this special collaboration process. They talked enthusiastically about how they collaborated with Marvel Studios’ own director of the film “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings”, Destin Daniel Cretton, to make this album. Making this album was also a new and unique experience for them, especially for NIKI who recorded most of her songs at home.

In search of inspiration for their songs, Rich Brian, NIKI, and Warren Hue explored their stories and imaginations with some special footage from the film to make up each song on the album. NIKI tries to dig deeper into Xu Xialing, who is strong and determined. His resilience and independence have greatly inspired his songs on Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings: The Album. Meanwhile, Warren Hue gets his inspiration from parts of the film he feels very close to as a young Asian. “Collaborating on this album early in my career was unbelievable. As a huge Marvel fan, to be on this album as an Asian singer, it’s been a real pleasure. I am sure this project will inspire many other young Asian artists as well,” said Warren Hue.

At the end of the session, Rich Brian gave a special message to all the young creators out there, “I can’t believe the three of us, young artists from Indonesia, are here singing on the Marvel soundtrack. This shows that anything is possible and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve as Indonesians in this industry,” said Rich Brian.
