The Realme 9 Pro duo was announced in mid-February. Apart from India, realme also markets the realme 9 Pro Series in Indonesia. Yes! There is a realme 9 Pro 5G and a realme 9 Pro+ 5G. Now, realme presents a pair of non-Pro devices. They are realme 9 SE 5G and realme 9 5G.

Both of these smartphones have officially entered the Indian market. And Realme has not commented much on whether this smartphone will be brought outside India or not. In the Indonesian market itself, realme on March 22, 2022 will launch the realme GT2 Pro.

realme 9 SE 5G

For those of you who are curious about the realme 9 SE 5G, let’s find out the specifications. However, you should know that the SE attached to the realme 9 SE 5G has the abbreviation “Speed Edition”. It is appropriate to have “SE”, because this handset has a fast chipset and high refresh rate.

Maybe you will be surprised by the chipset embedded in the realme 9 SE. realme is confident to embed the Snapdragon 778G chipset into the realme 9 SE. In fact, as we all know, the realme 9 Pro is only equipped with Snapdragon 695.

The chipset embedded in this smartphone is paired with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM (LPDDR4x dual channel) and 128 GB of internal storage with UFS 2.2 technology. This smartphone has a slot to store two SIM cards and one microSD card.

Unlike the realme 9 Pro Series, realme provides the realme 9 SE with the Android 11 operating system wrapped in the realme UI 2.0 interface. reame itself does not give a reason why you have to load an “old” operating system and interface into this smartphone.

Meanwhile, the second “speedy component” is in the screen sector. realme 9 SE comes with a 6.6-inch screen and has a refresh rate of 144Hz. realme boasts that Snapdragon 778G and 144Hz display are the first in the competitive price segment.

The screen can switch between six refresh rates, 30Hz on the low-end and 144Hz on the high-end. realme also offers a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, making it perfect for fast-paced gaming. The resolution itself is FHD+ and promises a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and is supported by 30W charging using the included adapter. With an efficient chipset and a large battery, this smartphone can last for 19.5 hours of video playback. In comparison, the 9 Pro has a 5,000 mAh/33W battery.

For the camera sector, the realme 9 SE is indeed inferior to the realme 9 Pro. This smartphone is only equipped with a 48 MP main camera on the back along with a macro lens and bokeh. Video recording reaches 4K @ 30 fps. Meanwhile, the front camera is 16 MP.

Some of the other features mentioned include a capacitive fingerprint reader, as well as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. realme 9 SE is available in Starry Glow or Azure Glow color options. The 6 GB/128 GB variant sells for INR 19,999 or equivalent to Rp. 3.7 million and the 8 GB/128 GB variant costs INR 22.999 or equivalent to Rp. 4.3 million.

realme 9 5G

realme 9 5G isn’t too obsessed with speed and its 6.5-inch display runs at 90Hz – enough to make the user interface smooth, but nothing impressive. The handset has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (20:9) and promises a peak brightness of 600 nits. The touch sampling rate is 180 Hz.

For the kitchen, realme has the Dimensity 810. This is another 6nm chipset with a 5G modem. The basic memory configuration is 4 GB/64 GB (dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM, but internal storage uses UFS 2.1). Another option offered is 6GB/128GB.

If users want to upgrade their storage capacity, there is a slot to accommodate a microSD card. In addition there is also support for loading two SIM cards at once. Just like realme 9 SE 5G, realme also provides realme 9 5G with realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

The camera setup is pretty much the same as the 48 MP main camera on the back, plus a macro and depth module. However, there is no 4K video option. If used to record video, the results can only reach 1080p @ 30 fps. The front camera is the same as that of the realme 9 SE 5G.

For the battery, the realme 9 5G is also equipped with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. It’s just that the charging pinned by realme is lower, which is 18W. The fingerprint reader is still built in, but the included wireless connectivity is WiFi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.1.

The Realme 9 5G will go on sale in Black or White and will be available at a price of INR14,999 or around Rp. 2.8 million for the 4 GB/64 GB variant. Meanwhile, for consumers who are interested in buying the Realme 9 5G 6GB/128GB variant, this smartphone is priced at INR17,499 or the equivalent of Rp. 3.3 million.
