As expected by many gadget fans, realme will not only present the realme GT 2 Pro from the launch stage which will be held on January 4 in China. Yes! realme also launched the realme GT 2 and this model also features environmentally friendly bio-based materials, just like the realme GT 2 Pro.

The GT 2 arrives with a slightly smaller 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with 120Hz average refresh support. The screen is also equipped with a touch sampling rate of 720Hz/smart instantaneous touch 1000Hz. Unlike the Pro variant, realme only coats the GT 2 screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

In terms of core specs, the realme GT 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset which powers the 2021 flagships. The chipset is paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM on different models. The device also features a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 65W flash charging.

The vanilla model is also equipped with a diamond ice core cooling system. In terms of photography, the realme GT 2 packs a main camera with Sony IMX766 OIS combined with a 119° ultra-wide lens. On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera.

This device is also equipped with several features found on the GT 2 Pro such as free switching antenna, multifunction NFC, X-axis linear motor, Dolby Atmos dual speaker/Hi-Res sound quality certification, and realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12.

There’s the Realme GT 2 Master Edition which was designed by a renowned Japanese industrial design master, Naoto Fukasawa. The design is said to be inspired by “paper”. It tries to integrate nature with technology, resulting in the use of bio-based building materials.

In addition to the device unit, the retail box also uses environmentally friendly packaging materials that are non-toxic and can be recycled or biodegradable. realme boasts that they use plastic materials which only account for 0.7% of packaging materials.

As for the price, the realme GT 2 is priced starting at 2599 Yuan (Rp 5.8 million) for the 8 GB/128 GB version. The 8 GB/256 GB version will be priced at 2799 Yuan (Rp 6.3 million), while the 12 GB/256 GB version is priced at 3099 Yuan (Rp 6.9 million). The regular GT 2 model comes in Gold, Blue and Black colors.

On the other hand, the AG glass version comes in Black Satin and Titanium Blue, while the eco-friendly GT 2 Master Edition is available in Master Paper and Master Sen variants. Just like the Pro version, realme has only marketed this smartphone in China and there is no information about its availability outside the Chinese market.
