Praveen Jordan Wins First All England Title

VIVA – Praveen Jordan has won two All England titles throughout his career with different partners. In 2016, Praveen won with Debby Susanto. Then, he won again in 2020 with Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

In the 2016 All England final, Praveen/Debby met the Danish pair Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen. They won two straight games 21-12 and 21-18 at Barclaycard Arena, 13 March 2016.

The eighth seed shot straight from the start and had scored six consecutive points, leading to a 13-6 lead. Praveen/Debby were finally able to lock the first game with a score of 21-12.

In the second game, again Praveen/Debby were able to perform well until they took the interval with an 11-7 advantage. However, after that the opponent began to be able to balance the tempo to catch up.

In fact, the Danish pair were able to equalize 14-14 and then went back to winning 16-14. But Praveen / Debby were not depressed and instead continued to gain points after equalizing at 16.

Four consecutive points put the Indonesian pair in the Championship Point position, before Praveen/Debby secured the title 21-18 in a match that lasted 42 minutes.
