TRIBUNNEWS.COM, IRAQ – A total of 12 ballistic missiles rained down on the city of Arbil in the Iraqi Kurdish autonomous region on Sunday, March 13, 2022, causing damage to residential buildings and a TV station.

There were no fatalities as a result of the missile attack but injured two residents.

Iran claimed responsibility for the missile attack and said the attack actually targeted Israel’s strategic center but missed Iraqi territory.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards confirmed they fired the projectiles and claimed to have targeted a site used by Israel, a key ally of the United States.

The attack came almost a week after the Guards vowed to avenge the deaths of two of their officers killed in a rocket attack in Syria they blame on Israel.
