VIVA – Persib Bandung coach, Robert Alberts praised the referee’s performance in the match against Persiraja Banda Aceh in week 29 of Liga 1 at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Bali, Saturday 5 March 2022.

According to him, the judge made a wise decision when the stadium was flooded with heavy rain until the field was flooded. As a result, Referee Ruli from East Java decided to end the match early.

“I also congratulate the referee and the match officials. Because it is not easy to control this match with a situation like this,” Robert told reporters.

“But he controls well and by far, this is the best fixture in the league leading our game.”

Heavy rain poured down the field since the first half. This condition makes the game take place at a slow tempo because the flow of the ball is disrupted.

The match officials had time to discuss the conditions of the field. Until finally the referee and both teams agreed to stop the match even though there were still a few minutes left.

“Earlier the situation was too dangerous because it was accompanied by lightning. There are two minutes remaining and the best decision has been made. This is all for the safety of the players. I think Persiraja also understands the situation very well,” explained Robert.
