VIVA – After a long absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PP Perbasi indicated that it would resume the women’s basketball competition.

The decision to hold an official women’s basketball competition under the federation was obtained after Perbasi held a women’s basketball league coordination meeting with club owners. The meeting was held in the Senayan area, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Perbasi was represented directly by the General Chairperson Danny Kosasih, Secretary General Nirmala Dewi, and the Deputy for Development and Achievement George Dendeng.

“We gathered club owners and basketball people who are interested in participating in the women’s league and the results are quite encouraging because all those present are committed to starting with a national invitational match between clubs,” Danny was quoted as saying on the official Perbasi website.

“That is the basis of how we get to the real women’s league because to play the women’s league we need more detailed things, more detailed rules,” she added.

Secretary General of PP PERBASI Nirmala Dewi added that the idea of launching the Women’s League was part of an effort to realize the aspirations of the region. Especially for the 19 and 23 year old league. The tit for tat, in the coordination meeting everything went well.

“To our women’s basketball friends in the country, this is the time we have been waiting for. Hopefully soon we will announce the competition, what the technical schedule is like through the club. Just keep practicing to prepare for the competition that will be rolled out by Perbasi,” said Nirmala.
