VIVA – The Indonesian badminton team has finally withdrawn from the 2022 Polish Open International Challenge badminton event. This event will be held on 24-27 March 2022 in the city of Ar?amów, Poland.

This cancellation was recommended directly by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Poland, Anita Luhulima, via a short message to PP PBSI, Friday 25 February 2022.

In her message, Anita conveyed to cancel the participation of the Indonesian badminton team following the Russian military invasion of Ukraine which borders directly with Poland.

Armed with a recommendation from the Indonesian Ambassador to Poland, after holding an internal meeting, PP PBSI finally decided to cancel the sending of players. The cancellation is solely for the safety and security of the player.

“For the safety and security of our athletes, we accepted the recommendation of the Indonesian Ambassador to Poland by withdrawing participation from the Polish Open,” said Broto Happy, Head of Public Relations and Media of PP PBSI.

“The Indonesian Ambassador to Poland said that the condition of Ukraine is currently heating up due to the Russian military attack and has an impact on countries that have direct borders such as Poland. The situation is uncertain and can change at any time,” continued Broto.

Originally PP PBSI would send up and junior athletes in this event.
