VIVA – The Indonesian Time Trial National Selection (Selection) for the 2022 SEA Games Vietnam enters the second day.
The National Time Trial selection was followed by national and non-platinum swimmers who were ranked in the top 10 nationally. This activity will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Jakarta, 10-12 March 2022.
Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Swimming Association (PB PRSI) Harlin Erlianto Rahardjo said, although this time trial could not be used as a full reference, a number of swimmers showed good timing.
Harlin believes that the shortcomings of swimmers can be corrected so that they can perform optimally at the 2022 SEA Games, which are only eight weeks away.
“I think some swimmers show a pretty good timing, although this time trial can’t be used as a reference because the swimmers are currently undergoing heavy training,” said Harlin to VIVA.
“There are some that are still disappointing, there are also positive ones. I think this is still under control and part of the plans of coach Michael Piper and the Indonesian coach team. Hopefully we have eight weeks left to make the best of it,” he continued.
Furthermore, Harlin said that what was interesting on the second day of the national election was that there were many young athletes who were in their teens. It is not impossible, at the 2022 SEA Games there will be a number of debutant swimmers.
