Finally, serial fans The Witcher You can check out the latest trailer for Season 2 of this fantasy adventure series. This new trailer comes with lots of new trailers that weren’t seen in the previous teasers and promos, and as we all know, Netflix will be releasing The Witcher season 2 on December 17th.
With lots of beautifully choreographed action and incredible magical elements, this trailer focuses on the conflict that took place on The Continent, namely the ongoing war between North and South. We get to see footage of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) fighting some weird monsters from the Witcherverse. But perhaps, one of the most anticipated developments is the bond that forms between Geralt and Ciri (Freya Allen), Child of Surprise. In this trailer we see Ciri receiving weapons from Geralt, as if accepting her fate and role as an active fighter.
The Witcher season 2 will take place sometime after the end of Season 1, where Geralt and Ciri finally reunite while Yennefer uses her powers to help save another wizard. Next season, we will see Geralt and Ciri return to Geralt’s house in Kaer Morhen and there, Ciri will begin her battle and magic training.
The synopsis for season 2 reads:
“Believing Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia takes Princess Cirilla to the safest place she knows, Kaer Morhen’s childhood home. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons fight for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she wields within.”
In Season 2, Henry Cavill will definitely return as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra will also reprise his role as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan also returns as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier. They will be joined by a number of new stars who will play some of the franchise’s most famous characters.
Latest season The Witcher will also feature Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen and Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) as Vesemir. Six other actors have also been selected for Season 2 including Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as the wizard Lambert; Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coën, a magician from Poviss; Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, a strong bruxa; Basil Eidenbenz (Fast and Furious 9) as Eskel, Geralt’s friend from his youth; Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, a witch; and Mecia Samson as Francesca the fairy who is described as having extraordinary beauty.
