Film The Last Duel directed by Ridley Scott re-released a new promo material in the form of a poster highlighting the cast and characters consisting of Jodie Comer, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Adam Driver. And this incredible lineup of central cast is featured prominently in this new poster.
Matt Damon stars as Jean de Carrouges, Adam Driver as Jacques Le Gris, with Ben Affleck as Count Pierre d’Alençon. Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, Free Guy) plays Marguerite de Carrouges. Ridley Scott himself has proven himself to be more than capable of leading historical dramas on a large scale, especially after winning Best Pictures for Gladiator, besides that the veteran filmmaker has also directed Kingdom of Heaven, Robin Hoodand Exodus: Gods and Kings.
The Last Duel set in the middle of the Hundred Years War. Based on true events, the film uncovers long-held assumptions about the sanctioned final duel in France between Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris, two friends who become rivals. Carrouges is a respected knight known for his bravery and skill on the battlefield. Le Gris, meanwhile, is Norman’s bodyguard whose wit and eloquence make him one of the most admired nobles in the palace. When Carrouges’ wife is brutally attacked by Le Gris, she refuses to remain silent. After he steps forward to confront his suspected assailant, a duel exhausting to the death is set to determine their fate.
The film, which is handled by 20th Century Studios, stars Jodie Comer, Adam Driver, Matt Damonand Ben Affleck with support from Harriet Walter, Nathaniel Parker, Sam Hazeldine, Michael McElhatton, Alex Lawther, Marton Csokas, eljko Ivanek, Clive Russell, Adam Nagaitis, and Bosco Hogan.
The screenplay for the film, written by Nicole Holofcener (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), is based on the novel by Eric Jager entitled “The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France.” Ridley Scott also produces The Last Duel along with Kevin J. Walsh, Jennifer Fox, Nicole Holofcener, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Kevin Halloran, Drew Vinton, Madison Ainley serve as executive producers.
