Marvel Studios has just delivered new marketing material for the film Eternalswith latest promo which gives a clearer appearance of the Deviants. For information, the Deviants are an alien race that is the enemy of the Eternals, immortal aliens sent to protect Earth by the Celestials. And it can be seen, this 30-second promo clip gives an indication that director Chloé Zhao (The Rider, Nomadland) will really bring the action and the scent of hostility that is quite thick between these two different races. The film is scheduled to debut in theaters on November 5, 2021.
The video, which you can view below, teases the exciting battle between the heroes against The Deviants while highlighting each of their strengths. You get the dragon-like Deviant figure emerging from the sea, which was featured in the previous trailer. But there’s also some footage of a Deviant resembling a gorilla hurtling toward Gilgamesh (Don Lee). It looks like these evil creatures will pose some serious threats to humanity, as the Eternals will need to deploy each of their unique powers and skills to fight them.
In addition to this promo, Marvel Studios has partnered with a well-known automaker to release a hilarious two-minute commercial directed by The Russo Brothers featuring Kingo, played by Kumail Nanjiani. In this ad, he has a hard time finding the right parking space for his car in the middle of a battle. Throughout his search for a parking spot, he is bombarded by texts and missed calls from fellow Eternals including Sersi and the Sprites, who admonish him that he is too late to join the battle.
Eternals starring Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi who loves humanity, Kumail Nanjiani as the cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor of Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the ever-young and spirited Sprite elder, Don Lee as the strong Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as the aloof Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the tough warrior, Thena. Kit Harrington will play Dane Whitman. The film was written and directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, with Patrick Burleigh as screenwriter.
This superhero movie takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgamewith the Eternals having to regroup and leave their own lives behind from different corners of the world to fend off the cataclysmic awakening that occurred as a result of the population being jolted back to Earth.
The Eternals is one of the less favorite properties in the Marvel Universe. First appeared in their own comic series from comic legend Jack Kirby in the summer of 1976. However, their world has been touched in the franchise. The Guardians of the Galaxy, which should connect everything fine in the MCU. The Eternals and their rival race, the Deviants, were created by the Celestials many years ago. The two groups have continued to battle each other throughout history to see who will ultimately be the final race.
