Netflix finally announced the main voice actors for their animated series adapted from video games League of Legends entitled Arcane. They are Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead), who lent their voices to characters Vi and Jinx. Joining the duo are Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer) as Jayce, Katie Leung (Harry Potter) as Caitlyn, Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as Silco, Toks Olagundoye (Castlevania) as Mel, JB Blanc (Dota: Dragon’s Blood) as Vander, and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) as Viktor.

According to the official statement, Arcane Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the arid dungeons of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions—and the forces that will destroy them. Christian Linke of Riot Games serves as showrunner and co-creator of the series alongside Alex Yee. Linke and Yee revealed that they had been working on the project for 10 years, and that the story would revolve around brothers Vi and Jinx. Indeed, the two sisters have chosen paths that seem diametrically opposed and have since become fierce rivals in the larger context, so the revealed family dynamics are sure to be an interesting source of conflict to build on the series’ main storyline.
This animated series was originally announced some time ago as part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations League of Legends. The story targets an audience aged 14 and over and as in the gameplay, it allows them to explore some of the more mature themes.
“League of Legends has inspired passion and a global fandom and we are thrilled to be the home of the universe’s first television series, Arcane.” say Dominique Bazay the director“This series will provide a visually spectacular sensational ride that will make viewers feel right at home in their seats.”
