The romantic drama Bridgerton is coming back with a second season on Netflix on March 25. Different from the first season, this time Bridgerton will center on the romance of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for love. Produced by Netflix in conjunction with Shondaland, the series has executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Chris Van Dusen. Chris Van Dusen also serves as the creator and showrunner of this popular series.

Ahead of its premiere, Netflix released a teaser showing a familiar setting from the previous season, namely London in the charming Regence era. The Lady Whistledown newspaper is back and everyone can’t wait to read it. Various new characters are also seen filling the second season, including Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) who meets Anthony at the dance ballroom, and her sister Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) who always acts cold when dealing with Anthony. Not only that, the Bridgerton Season 2 teaser also shows a glimpse of the mysterious figure behind Lady Whistledown who is now known to be Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and will continue to narrate Bridgerton’s story this second season.

As the main character in season two, we will follow the journey of Lord Anthony, the eldest son of the Bridgerton family and a viscount, in finding the right wife for him. Driven by a sense of responsibility to protect the family’s good name, Anthony’s search becomes increasingly difficult with his standards too high – until he finally meets Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and her sister Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) who have just arrived from India. When Anthony begins to approach Edwina, Kate finds out that Anthony has no intention of looking for a partner based on love. He tried his best to stop their relationship. But over time, the frequent fights brought Kate and Anthony closer together, making their relationship even more complicated.

Bridgerton, inspired by the novels by Julia Quinn, is a romantic, intelligent and scandalous series that celebrates friendship, the search for meaning in family, and true love that conquers all. The series also stars Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Polly Walker (Portia Featherington), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.

Don’t miss the series’ second season premiere on March 25, 2022, only on Netflix!
