realme last year made a lot of surprises in the Indonesian smartphone market. Of course, we still remember that realme also launched the realme 8 Pro in 2021, to be precise in early April 2021. Furthermore, in early May 2021, realme made a surprise by launching the realme 8 Pro Illuminating Yellow.
Yes! realme 8 Pro Illuminating Yellow comes in an eye-catching color. How come! To set it apart, realme 8 Pro Illuminating Yellow uses a special fluorescent material that absorbs light and creates a magical glow around the camera module and the slogan “DARE TO LEAP” in the dark.
Now, at the beginning of 2022, realme has again surprised realme fans, aka loyal realme users, by launching the realme 9 Pro Series. There are two models at once launched by realme, namely the realme 9 Pro and the realme 9 Pro+. Incidentally, Droidlime had the opportunity to review the realme 9 Pro and here’s the review!
Carrying flagship design DNA
realme 9 Pro adopts the flagship design concept, and realme calls it “Light Shift Design”. The Sunrise Blue color that looks so stylish will turn reddish when exposed to sunlight or UV rays. Changes in color can also last so short, that it looks really so interesting.
realme mentions that the special effects of the flagship design on the realme 9 Pro are inspired by the photochromic principle. realme added OCA organic photochromic material. It took more than 200 intense trials to produce a color changing effect while still maintaining the slimness of the smartphone body.
Even though it looks so beautiful, the back of this smartphone still leaves fingerprints even though it doesn’t look too real. No need to worry, realme has provided a soft-case (silicone case) in its sales package, which also protects the back of the device and the camera housing module.
Curious about the material on the back of the realme 9 Pro? Yes! realme still packs it with polycarbonate which is designed in such a way that it has a beautiful finish. Still with the back shell, realme also embeds a square-shaped camera housing module in the upper left corner which is slightly protruding.
Another interesting thing, realme mixes the rear shell of the realme 9 Pro with curved edges. This certainly gives a sense of comfort when the smartphone is held for a long time. Meanwhile, the frame is made of solid and sturdy metal material.
Unlike its predecessor, the realme 9 Pro has slightly larger dimensions. Its size is 164.3 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm. Meanwhile, its weight is 200 grams. Even so, this smartphone is still comfortable to put in a pants or shirt pocket.
The screen size is 6.6 inches, 0.2 inches different from the realme 8 Pro. However, realme has boosted its refresh rate to 120Hz so that it gives a sense of comfort when the realme 9 Pro is invited to surf the internet or play games.
The screen resolution is FullHD + and still maintains an aspect ratio of 20: 9 with a screen brightness of 1,000 nits. The screen also still adopts a punch-hole design, just like the realme 8 Pro. realme also includes a fingerprint scanner sensor on the side, along with the power button.
Now! The power button is placed on the right side, while the volume buttons can be found on the left side of the device along with slots for SIM and microSD cards. realme 9 Pro comes with Dual SIM support (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by), but the second SIM card tray has to share space with the microSD card.
Meanwhile, on the upper side, you will only find the microphone hole. On the bottom side, realme embeds a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer which is flanked by a 3.5mm Audio Jack port, microphone hole and of course the speaker grill.
