VIVA – Jimmy Butler made a pair of jumpers in the last 66 seconds of second overtime (OT) as the Miami Heat earned a 111-107 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in an NBA game Thursday night (Friday 18 February 2022 CEST) or the last game before the All-Star break.
Kyle Lowry scored 25 points, Duncan Robinson had 21 and PJ Tucker, Bam Adebayo and Butler all contributed 15 points for the Heat. Omer Yurtseven added 10 points off the bench.
Miles Bridges had 29 points and Montrezl Harrell had 24 for the Hornets. Kelly Oubre Jr. and PJ Washington both had 15 points and LaMelo Ball had 14 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for a triple-double.
Miami leads 107-102 after a late goal from Butler. Bridges hit back with 3 points for the Hornets before Lowry’s lay-in in the 21.1 minute.
The Heat didn’t score for nearly four minutes to start the fourth quarter, allowing Charlotte to extend her lead to 78-64.
Miami bounced back by adding 11 points to make it 86-85 with 1:57 remaining. Until Harrell’s dunk in the 24.6 minute, Charlotte had no field goals since leading 84-77.
