MGPA Optimistic that Mandalika Circuit Repair Tracks Completed March 10

VIVA – The re-paving of the Mandalika Circuit has begun. PT Development Tourism Indonesia (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) together with the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), continue to make improvements before the MotoGP event in Lombok, NTB.

President Director of MGPA, Priandhi Satria, said that he is optimistic that the track will be completed on March 10. Followed by other supporting facilities will be completed on March 16.

“We and the team on the field are very optimistic that the repair of the track can be completed on March 10 and ensure that it is in accordance with the specifications from Dorna Sports and the FIM,” he said in a press statement quoted by this media, Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Priandhi explained about the work on re-paving the track with a total length of 1.2 kilometers. This process has already started with peeling and cleaning of the existing asphalt layer.

Various simulations are also being carried out today to get the most precise and powerful composition. Then the installation of the new asphalt will begin on March 4-8, 2022.

“ITDC Group together with Roadgrip Motorsport Indonesia (RMI) and PT PP (Persero) are committed to carrying out this work as well as possible,” said Priandhi.
