Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 victory over Real Madrid changed Kylian Mbappe’s stance. The PSG star is now reportedly reluctant to move to Madrid next season.
Mbappe led PSG when they met Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, yesterday. Not a few who think it is an ‘audition’ match for the 23-year-old striker before wearing El Real after his contract expires in June.
In the process Mbappe became Madrid’s nightmare throughout the match. Mbappe is recorded to have made four shots on target, or half of PSG’s total of 8 attempts on goal Los Blancos. He also made 18 touches in the opponent’s penalty box before deciding the victory for his team by scoring a beautiful goal in stoppage time.
However, Kylian Mbappe’s dominant appearance against Real Madrid seems to have an effect on his future. Spanish media reports, SPORT, said the winner of the 2018 World Cup winners’ medal was very frustrated with the quality of the current Madrid squad.
For that Mbappe decided to wait and consider before making a decision. If this rumor is not a figment, then this will be a big blow for Madrid president Florentino Perez, who is eager to bring Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is also reported that Mbappe is seriously considering a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool being said to be an interested team.
“I haven’t decided on my future. I play for PSG, one of the best clubs in the world,” he said after the game.
“Does this match affect my future? No, I haven’t decided yet. I gave my best and then we’ll see what happens next season,” Kylian Mbappe responded to rumors of a move to Real Madrid.
