To welcome The Batman which will be released in the coming months, the director, Matt Reeves via account Twitter personally shared a cool motion poster full of mystery to enliven the film’s marketing materials.

The poster features rain pouring down Batman’s figure with shades of red slowly unfolding, along with a question mark related to Batman’s iconic villain, Riddler, who will be the main antagonist in the film. The dark music fades as question marks unfold, and sirens mix with the sounds of Gotham’s streets, then can be heard in the rain.

The Batman is a story set with Bruce Wayne who has entered the second year of his “career” as Batman. At first Bruce Wayne was discouraged by the lack of influence he had on crime in Gotham when suddenly a series of murders took place at the hands of the Riddler. This will later reveal a dark secret about his parents, Bruce is also forced to confront the corruption that is taking place in the shadows of his city, all the while trying to catch the Riddler before he kills again.

As a reminder, The Batman takes place outside of DC’s cinematic universe, DCEU, which could give Reeves and the film’s creative team the opportunity to explore more of Gotham’s dark and mysterious underworld. Batman has always been one of the darkest superhero stories in modern history, and the film looks to dive deeper into the darker side of billionaire and vigilante, Bruce Wayne.
