Mandalika Circuit Repaving Completed, MotoGP Logistics Arrived

VIVA – Partial re-paving of the Mandalika Circuit between turns 16 and 17 to between turns 5 and 6 was completed on Wednesday afternoon. The re-paving began on Saturday 5 March.

Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association, Priandhi Satria said there were no problems in the re-paving process. After completion, said Priandhi, the newly re-paved track will go through a cooling process for one day.

“Thus, there is sufficient time to cool the asphalt layer so that it can be continued with polishing or cleaning the oil layers on the surface,” said Priandhi in an official statement received by VIVA, Thursday, March 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, the logistics cargo for the MotoGP race has arrived. Cargo will arrive in stages until next Friday March 11 on five flights from Doha, Qatar.

On Wednesday, there were three cargo arrivals. The first cargo arrival was by Qatar Airways cargo plane QR8356, while the second was cargo plane QR8062. The third cargo arrival was using a Qatar Airways cargo plane with flight number QR8000.

Logistics are brought directly to the Mandalika Circuit. Cargo transportation is under strict supervision from the police. At 10.00 WITA, the KTM team’s box opening ceremony was held.

The ceremony takes place in the customs area behind the paddock. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretariat of the National Council for Special Economic Zones, KTM, circuit managers, and freight forwarders.
