VIVA – The Malaysian men’s team won the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships. In the final match which took place in Selangor, Sunday 20 February 2022, they beat Indonesia with a 3-0 position.
In the third match, Indonesia was represented by Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay. He faced Malaysian men’s singles NG Tze Yong and lost in two straight games.
At the beginning of the first game, Ikhsan was 1-6 behind from Tze Yong. But then he took five straight points and made it 6-6.
Tze Yong didn’t want to lose any more momentum. After that he was always able to maintain the advantage of Ikhsan to win the first game with a 21-14 advantage.
Tze Yong continued his dominance over Ikhsan in the second game. He can always maintain the lead in the points. Even as soon as he was ahead 11-5.
Ikhsan tried his best to cut the gap by one point. But Tze Yong back away from being 14-9.
Tze Yong seems comfortable with his superiority. He can continue to gain point by point and ensure that the 2022 BATC title belongs to Malaysia after ending the match with a score of 21-15.
