VIVA – Madura United had to swallow the bitter pill after losing to Persib Bandung 2-3 in the continuation of Liga 1. The duel of the two teams was held at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Bali, Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Laskar Sape Kerab had to fall behind first through three goals scored by Bruno Cantanhede in the 16th minute, ’30 and Zalnando in the 74th minute. Meanwhile, two Madura goals were contributed by Greg Nwokolo in the 85th minute and Alberto Goncalves in the 87th minute.

Madura coach, Fabio Lefundes, admitted that it was not easy to face Persib’s resistance. According to him, Persib is one of the strongest teams in League 1.

“It’s no different from what we are waiting for, they have a good and strong team and a strong collectivity, so if we play against a strong team, we can’t go wrong, we will see a good match,” Fabio said after the match.

Madura United actually performed well in the early minutes of the match. They had given a threat to Persib’s goal, which was escorted by Teja Paku Alam.

However, Persib could turn things around until they finally scored through Bruno Cantanhede’s header. The goal surprised the Madura United players.

“We had a chance to score in the first minute and when we conceded we were a little surprised and we made one more mistake and it was a problem for us,” he said.
