Forbes site has just released a list of Hollywood artists who have paid ‘expensive’ in 2016. And unexpectedly, the name Johnny Depp again dominates the ranking of artists with paid ‘expensive’ for this year. Well, to find out how Forbes can determine this ‘phenomenon’, here’s an explanation.
Forbes selected the three most recent big films starring the artist, then split the estimate budget production of numbers box office globally for each film, then get the total operating revenue. By dividing the total operating income of each film and the artist’s estimated earnings, Forbes derives a benchmark number of studio profits. The result was quite astonishing, Johnny Depp – for the second time – became an artist who has paid too much.
So, here’s a list of 10 artists who have been paid the most in 2016.
1. Johnny Deep
Profit box office: $2.80 for $1 paid.
2. Will Smith
Profit box office: $5 for $1 paid.
3. Channing Tatum
Profit box office: $6 for $1 paid.
4. Will Ferrell
Profit box office: $6.50 for $1 paid.
5. George Clooney
Profit box office: $6.70 for $1 paid.
6. Adam Sandler
Profit box office: $7.60 for $1 paid.
7. Mark Wahlberg
Profit box office: $9.20 for $1 paid.
8. Leonardo DiCaprio
Profit box office: $9.90 for $1 paid.
9. Julia Roberts
Profit box office: $10.80 for $1 paid.
10. Bradley Cooper
Profit box office: $12.10 for $1 paid.
