Pixar has released the first teaser trailer of the film lightyearspinoff Toy Story focusing on the astronaut who inspired the character of Buzz Lightyear. Lightyear marks first spinoff film Toy Story for Pixar, and now for the first time fans can see an exciting promo from the film. In this teaser, fans can see the journey and adventures of an astronaut who is assigned to undergo a special mission.
What this teaser reveals is in line with what Pete Docter, Pixar’s chief creative officer at Disney Investor Day said some time ago, “Back when we made the first Toy Story, we designed Buzz Lightyear with the idea that he was a toy based on some really cool characters from an epic blockbuster movie. Well, years later, we decided to make that film.”
lightyear directed by Angus MacLane, who has directed the short film “BURN • E“and have experience in the world of Toy Story thanks to”Small Fry” and Toy Story of Terror Halloween edition. And interestingly, the release date of the film, which will air on June 17, 2022, will make this animated film meet two major films in the same month, namely Jurassic World: Dominionand Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Since Lightyear will focus on the character on which Buzz Lightyear is based, not the “toy” Buzz Lightyear, the new character will be voiced by Chris Evansnot Tim Allen.
For your information, Toy Story started as Pixar’s first feature-length film in 1995, and Toy Story 2 is Pixar’s first sequel. Toy Story 3 then appeared in 2010 which then “ended” the original trilogy by saying goodbye to Andy, the owner of the toys that became the center of the story in Toy Story. Meanwhile Toy Story 4 coming in 2019 was more of a “farewell” film for Woody. And over the years Pixar has proven one thing over the decades, that is that Toy Story is one of their most successful franchises and is loved by their fans around the world, and it’s unlikely they would have made this spinoff if the animation company had done it. Disney’s lack of great ideas and compelling stories for fan-favorite character, Buzz Lightyear.
