Light Copying Movie Coming Soon on Netflix

Netflixthe world’s leading entertainment service, will soon bring movies Light Copy on January 13, 2022. The film follows a young woman named Sur whose life changes after a photo of her drunkenness goes viral and makes her lose her scholarship. With the help of Amin, his childhood friend who works as a photocopier on campus, Sur is determined to uncover the truth by hacking his college friends’ cell phones.

Light Copy is the director’s first feature-length film Wregas Bhanuteja which has won a number of awards. The film dominated the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival with 17 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Script, Best Actor, and Best Actress. The film also has the opportunity to screen at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival and compete in the New Currents category.

Light Copy starring a line of young and talented actors, including Shenina Cinnamon who plays Sur. Sur’s pathetic but courageous journey will amaze the audience as he struggles to find the truth. Actor’s appearance Chicco Kurniawan as Sur’s friend, Amin, is also ready to steal the show and won a Best Actor nomination at the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival. In addition, this film also features Lutesha, Jerome Kurnia, Dea Panendra, Giulio Parengkuan, Lukman Sardi, and Ruth Marini.

Wregas became the first Indonesian director to win an award at the Cannes Film Festival after his short film, Prenjak (In the Year of Monkey), won the Leica Cine Discovery Prize at the 55th Semaine de la Critique in 2016. The film was also awarded the Citra Cup as a Film Best Short at the 2016 Indonesian Film Festival. Previously, Wregas won the title of the youngest director to compete at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival through the short film Lembusura (2015). In addition, Wregas’ short film Nothing Crazy in this City was also named the Best Short Film at the 2019 Indonesian Film Festival, and competed at the Sundance Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and Locarno Film Festival.
