Last year it was reported that Lady Gaga would be involved in a drama film about the murder of Gianni Versace, in which she would play Donatella Versace. But today, the news has been re-confirmed, that Gaga won’t be taking on the role – the show’s creators explained American Crime Story.
Ryan Murphy explained to Variety regarding this, and according to several sources including IMDB, Lady Gaga’s cancellation of the role of Donatella Versace due to conflicting schedules that are super busy.
“Not really,” explained Ryan Murphy when asked if there had been any conversation with Gaga about this. “She’s a great friend. But he’s been very busy this year – he’s going to be performing at the Super Bowl and then he’s going to be performing for A Star Is Born and I believe he will also do some tours. And when you have to create an event like Versace, it takes five months of commitment, it’s a big event, we shoot a lot of shots around the world. So I thought this would clash with his schedule, I knew it wouldn’t be possible. But I look forward to working with Lady Gaga in the future.”
Well… who do you think is suitable to play Donatella Versace other than Lady Gaga? We’ll just have to wait for the news, Bela.
