VIVA – The General Chair of the Central KONI, Marciano Norman, asked the regional governments of Aceh and North Sumatra to immediately form the 2024 National Sports Week (PB PON) Grand Committee. The goal is to complete the 2024 PON master plan.
“Soon the management of PB.PON will soon be compiled, complete the making of a master plan covering the entire implementation of PON, determine the Event Organizer for the opening and closing ceremonies of PON,” said Marciano in a press statement from KONI.
The statement was made by Marciano at the declaration of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) 2024 in Aceh-North Sumatra, Thursday, February 24, 2022. The declaration was made after the Coordination Meeting discussed the readiness of the first PON to be held in two provinces.
The event, which was held at the Aceh Governor’s Hall, was also attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali, the Governor of Aceh Ir.H.Nova Iriansyah, and the Governor of North Sumatra Lieutenant General TNI Retired Edy Rahmayadi.
On the same occasion, the Governor of Aceh started this meeting by reporting on the readiness of his province to host the 2024 PON. He conveyed the work targets for this year, including determining the distribution of sports locations, master plans, development proposals, preparation of master plans and Detail Engineering Design (DED) , the establishment of the PON Grand Committee, the construction of infrastructure, the determination of the Technical Delegate (TD), and further coordination meetings.
The plan is for next year to carry out the first Chef de Mission (CdM) Meeting and entry by number. According to him, the Kuta Malacca Stadium Complex will be the location for the opening of PON XXI in addition to being a place for football matches.
“The Aceh-North Sumatra PON must be better than before,” said Marciano.
