VIVA – The Indonesian badminton squad has started to hold technical training ahead of the 2022 All England Open tournament. The oldest and most prestigious tournament will take place on March 16-20 at Utlita Arena, Birmingham.

Arriving in England on Friday, March 11, the Indonesian team just held a light exercise in the gym yesterday, March 12. Only Sunday, March 13, 2022, returned to the field for technical training.

The University of Birmingham’s Hall was chosen as the training ground because the official practice court and main hall will only start on Monday 14 March.

Indonesian men’s doubles player, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo hopes to get the best results at the All England this time. Kevin, who was seeded first with his partner, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, admitted that the preparations had been quite good.

“Preparations in Jakarta are good enough. Today’s training is to restore body condition and find the feeling of being hit. The adaptation will be when you have practiced in the main hall,” Kevin said in a written statement from PBSI.

“What is certain, we will still try our best, give our best and hopefully the results can be maximum as well,” concluded Kevin, who has twice won the oldest badminton event in the world.
