Ketum KONI Center Proud of Red and White Flying at the 2022 BATC

VIVA – General Chairperson of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Lt. Gen. TNI Retired Marciano Norman, expressed his congratulations and pride to the Indonesian women’s badminton team who won the Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) for the first time.

“Congratulations to the Indonesian women’s badminton national team for winning the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC),” Marciano said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.

The title was confirmed after Nita Violina Marwah closed the women’s doubles match with a hard smash. Nita who was paired with Lanny Tria Mayasari managed to win from the South Korean pair Kum Min Ji / Park Min Jeong with a score of 23-21, 21-11. The 34-minute match made Indonesia win 3-1 over South Korea.

The Indonesian women’s team won the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships.

Previously, the Indonesian badminton team won points through the women’s singles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who won two games from Sim Yujin with a score of 21-9, 21-10. One more point was presented by the women’s singles, Putri Kusuma Wardani, who defeated Lee Se Yeon in two straight games with a score of 21-10, 21-18.

Indonesia lost 1 point when Febriana D Kusuma/ Amalia Pratiwi lost to Baek Ha Na/ Seong Seung Yeon in three games, 15-21, 21-14, 14-21.
