Keira Knightley will be starring in a drama film project set in a serial killer entitled Boston Stranger. And interestingly this film will be produced by Ridley Scott and Margot Robbie. According to reports circulating, the creators of Crown Heights, Matt Ruskin who has finished writing the script will also serve as director. The shooting of the project will begin in December in the city where the notorious crime took place. Disney subsidiary 20th Century Studios will produce a project based on this true event.
Knightley will play Loretta McLaughlin, the character who conducts a groundbreaking investigation into the serial killer who terrorized the citizens of Boston. McLaughlin was the first reporter to link a series of deaths and publish the news that Boston had a serial killer in their midst. She teamed up with fellow journalist Jean Cole to report the case and keep every local woman up to date with the latest developments, despite the sexual discrimination they face from within their own world of work.
McLaughlin also finally uncovers a network of corruption that has the potential to obscure the true identity of the Boston Strangler, so this film also has a thriller element to add to the aura of a murder mystery. Ruskin, who is a Boston native, tracks down the McLaughlin and Cole families, and studies their research since they worked on the case, so audiences can expect the right level of detail from the film.
