Julia Fox Looks Bold with Cut Out Dress at New York Fashion Week

CANTIKA.COM, Jakarta – Model, Julia Fox was seen walking the runway at New York Fashion Week representing the LaQuan Smith brand. The former Kanye West opened the title with cut out dress black in honor of Andre Leon Talley.

Opening the Smith show, in more detail Julia Fox wore a high-necked black long-sleeved evening gown with a cut or cut out dress in the abdomen, chest, and back that hugs his body.

The event took place at a 163 year old club in the Financial District. Like other clubs of the era, the Down Town Association — filled with marble and heavily painted wood — used to be men’s only but began accepting women in 1985. The walls are still decorated with portraits of white men.

Smith, a rare black designer who established himself at New York Fashion Week, remains the go-to choice for young people and happy parties. She told the AP in a backstage interview that she chose the club because she was looking for a mood swing after taking over the observation deck of the Empire State Building last September for next week’s fashion show.

“I’m happy with this space,” he said. “I wanted to do something that felt romantic. This show and this season is really about the rise of New York City, celebrating New York designers, celebrating American designers.”

The women who buy her clothes, says Smith, “are all about being the center of attention.” They won’t be disappointed by her bold use of color and sequins, or her shimmering leotard worn with low knee-length, strap-back pants. But this season, it’s not just about showing off skin.

Smith pulled out some classics in fur-trimmed coats and daytime gowns worthy of the ladies lunching from party until dawn. One coat comes in a beautiful moss green leather with a comfortable collar and soft lining. She put a Smith touch to the ensemble by showing it over a small leo, modeled in dark tones with a statement necklace as the finishing touch.

“Women shop and that’s even more of an incentive,” she said. “It’s about giving people hope. People want to celebrate. People want to dress up.”

The 33-year-old Smith, a Queens native, founded the same brand in 2013. She has dressed Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Kardashian West and Hailey Bieber. Smith’s collection focuses mostly on cocktails and evenings, rather than party dresses.
