Five years after the success of the first film and the demand of many audiences, ‘Servant of Satan’ is back with a sequel entitled ‘Servant of Satan 2: The Communion’.
Rapi Films, in collaboration with Come and See Pictures, Sky Media, Brown Entertainment, and Legacy Pictures, today unveiled a teaser poster.
Previously, some time ago, a ‘mini teaser’ was released in the form of a short video introducing the return of this horror film directed by Joko Anwar.

Adding to the horror situation, the window looks like a pocong-like figure. What do these objects have to do with the film’s storyline? All will soon be revealed in the film that is set to hit theaters this year. The release date of the film will be announced soon.

Filming was done during the pandemic with most of the crew being the same team that worked on the previous film and now the film ‘Servant of Satan 2: The Communion’. “Currently Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion is in the stage of finalizing the visual effects (VFX) which has been going on for more than a year,” said Tia Hasibuan from Come and See Pictures.
The film ‘Servant of Satan’ which was released in 2017 was a commercial and critical success, not only at the national level but also internationally. In Indonesia, the film, starring Tara Basro and Bront Palarae, was the highest-grossing film in 2017 with a total of 4,206,103 viewers in theaters. In addition, at the 2017 Indonesian Film Festival, this film received 13 nominations, and won 7 of them.
The film was also well received by horror lovers abroad, the film ‘Satan’s Slaves’ with the international title ‘Satan’s Slaves’ was praised by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson through his Twitter account. He wrote, “’Satan’s Slaves’ is a well-crafted, scary horror film from Indonesia”.
