John Cena is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming action-comedy film project entitled Freelance. The project will be directed by Pierre Morel, director Takenand will be produced by Steve Richard with Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin.
Freelance follows the story of a special forces operator (Cena) who decides to retire from the Army and start a new family life in the United States. The years pass, and after settling into family life, he decides to come out of retirement to take up a job in the mission of providing security for a journalist as he travels to interview a dictator with whom he has a history.
“When a military coup broke out in the middle of an interview, the three were forced to flee into the jungle where they had to survive the elements, the military and each other,” That’s the description of the film.
The production process for the film will begin early next year with shooting locations in Columbia, but unfortunately this project does not yet have a studio that has obtained the rights to distribute the film. For Cena, this project will continue his space in the world of Hollywood. As we all know, the WWE superstar recently appeared on The Suicide Squad and will also star in a television series Peacemaker belonging to the upcoming HBO.
