INDOSPORT.COM – AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli praised his team’s performance when they managed to win 1-0 over the home team, Napoli in the 28th week of the Italian League on Monday (7/3/2022).
The Diego Armando Maradona stadium, which was packed with boisterous Napoli fans, did not make the Rossoneri flinch in the slightest. They managed to pass a tough test and secure three important points thanks to Olivier Giroud’s only goal.
AC Milan’s victory this time could not be separated from the role of Franck Kessie who was plotted again as a trequartista by Pioli. Kessie played a central role as a No 10 midfielder who was also tasked with disrupting the opponent’s rhythm.
Together with Ismael Bennacer, Kessie took turns supporting Giroud, Leao, and Messias up front. While Tonali as usual played solidly at the back and only occasionally pushed into the opponent’s defense.
This season, Kessie has been counted 3 times as a trequartista which is usually filled by Brahim Diaz.
Seeing Diaz’s performance that has been up and down lately, it’s no wonder that in the future we will see Franck Kessie playing behind the strikers more often.
