VIVA – The Indonesian Basketball National Team suffered another defeat after being defeated by Jordan with a score of 64-94 in the second window match of the FIBA 2023 World Cup Qualification Group C Asian zone which took place at Prince Hamza Stadium, Amman, Sunday 27 February 2022 (Monday morning WIB).
These results make Indonesia temporarily become the only team in Group C that failed to win a single victory in the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers, thereby reducing the chances of qualifying for the second round.
Although it’s not officially confirmed yet, there is no chance of advancing to the second round, the Red and White team’s chances are almost gone because they have to win in the remaining two matches of the third window in July and beat Saudi Arabia by a margin of 30 points or more. But that is also accompanied by the condition that Saudi Arabia also loses one of their other matches in the next window.
In the match against Jordan, the rebound aspect is still a big job that must be addressed by the Indonesian national team. Rajko Toroman’s squad only recorded 25 or half of what Jordan secured, namely 50 rebounds with 34 of them offensive rebounds, according to the official FIBA record.
However, the shooting accuracy of the Indonesian players this time was better than against Saudi Arabia last Thursday. Andakara Prastawa and his friends recorded 51 percent of two-point shots and 31 percent of triple points.
Abraham Damar Grahita became the top scorer for Indonesia in this match by winning 24 points during 37 minutes of playing on the field, assisted by 12 points from Brandon Jawato.
