VIVA – The Indonesian badminton squad has started to hold technical training ahead of the 2022 All England badminton tournament. The oldest and most prestigious tournament will take place on March 16-20 at Utlita Arena, Birmingham.

Arriving in England on Friday, March 11, the Indonesian team just held a light exercise in the gym yesterday, March 12. Only Sunday, March 13, 2022, returned to the field for technical training.

The University of Birmingham’s Hall was chosen as the training ground because the official practice court and main hall will only start on Monday 14 March.

“Today, assisted by Indonesian students in Birmingham, we rented a training ground for approximately two hours because the official training could only be tomorrow,” said Indonesia Team Manager, Rionny Mainaky in an official statement from PBSI.

“Yesterday we practiced at the gym, today we tried to go down to the field to get rid of the stiffness in the movement and restore the feeling of being hit because we haven’t held the racket for about three days,” he explained.

Rionny said that the current condition of the Indonesian team was very good, healthy and enthusiastic. An aura of optimism emanated from this training session.

“All team members are in good health and excited. Training is serious and optimistic,” said Rionny.
