Home Sweet Home Alone’s Premiere Trailer Brings a Funny Vacation Feel

Reboot of the 1990 classic, Home Alone entitled Home Sweet Home Alone finally revealed the official trailer and a new poster. Directed by Dan Mazer, the film will also tell the story of a family who, in a mess of getting things ready and preparing to go on vacation, ends up leaving their son at home. Home Sweet Home Alone will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 12.

This trailer introduces Max Mercer, a 10 year old boy, who is left behind in his own home because his family goes on vacation in Tokyo. Max can do anything he wants to do, like eat a lot of chocolate. And just like the movie Home Alone, Max must also find a clever way to defend his home from two individuals who intend to rob his house.

Directed by Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa) from a script written by Mikey Day & Streeter Seidell (Saturday Night Live), Home Sweet Home Alone Starring Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit), Aisling Bea (Living with Yourself), Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), Tim Simons (Veep), Pete Holmes (The Secret Life of Pets 2), Devin Ratray (Home Alone), Ally Maki (Toy Story) 4), and Chris Parnell (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues).

Film Home Alone this new one will carry a similar premise to what we have seen in the previous films. Synopsis for Home Sweet Home Alone reads:

“Home Sweet Home Alone will follow Max Mercer, a mischievous and resourceful young boy who is ‘left behind’ when his family goes on a vacation trip to Japan. So when a pair of thieves try to reclaim a priceless family heirloom and set their sights on the Mercers’ home, Max must protect it from the intruders… and he’ll do whatever it takes to prevent them.”

Home Alone The original hit theaters in 1990 and was considered a moderate success at the box office having grossed $476.7 million worldwide at the time. The film’s story centers around a boy named Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, whose family accidentally forgets him and leaves him alone at home when they go on vacation to Paris. Two robbers, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, try to break into his house, leaving Kevin as the only person who can stop them and save things. Sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York follows Kevin’s story again, this time stranded in New York City while being chased by the same robber duo.
