JAKARTA, celebrities.id – The actor in the drama Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead, Lee Yoo-Mi is considered one of the lucky enough artists. Because his name immediately skyrocketed and became known to the public after successfully starring in the two Netflix dramas.

Quoted from TheKoreHerald, Tuesday (15/2/2022), the Squid game was released in September 2021 and immediately seized the public’s attention. Lee plays Yeong, or player 240, as a young woman who competes for 45.6 billion won in a mysterious contest.

Lee entered the contest after being released from prison after killing his violent stepfather. In the film All of Us Are Dead, Lee Yoo-Mi takes on the role of Na-yeon, a teenage girl who is very spoiled and privileged but has a bad character. He likes to look down on his classmates who have different backgrounds and constantly complains.

Regarding his two roles in the drama, Lee took many valuable experiences in his life. He also admitted that he was very lucky because he could play both roles well.

“Those two films are very valuable and important to me, because I have been waiting a long time to watch them. I’m happy now, because everything is going very well more than I expected. That’s why I think I’m very lucky,” said Lee.

However, the character played by Lee in the two films is very different, so it has become a conversation on social media about his acting tricks.

In the film All of Us Are Dead, Lee played a weak person who was overthrown. But in the film Squid Game, Ji-yeoung plays a strong character and stands out among the other participants. Lee shows his selfishness and survival nature when he sacrifices himself to save his partner Sae Byok in the sixth episode.

The death he experienced during the marble game was one of the most heartbreaking scenes. In All of Us Are Dead, Na-yeon is a character that is not liked. She plays a woman who has no remorse for her shortcomings and plans the deaths of her classmates by deliberately injecting a zombie virus.

“I have received so many curses and bad words after ‘everyone here died.’ I thought that I would live long. I think it will be very fortunate to show myself in a completely different style in such a short time,” said Lee.

Due to these differences in character, it is very difficult for Lee to act as two different people, Ji-yeoung and Na-yeon at the same time. While the two shoots were held simultaneously in the summer of 2020.

“I studied the characters in the car while changing locations. On the way to All of Us Are Dead, I filled something inside. But when the trip to the Squid Game I threw it away from me,” he said.

Lee admits that the huge success of the two roles he played on Netflix will help him land even bigger roles.

“I got offers for some characters who live longer and never die. They are happier than my previous characters. The most important thing for me is that I am grateful that the Netflix series has given me the opportunity to continue my career in acting and get different roles in the future,” he said.
