VIVA – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his side’s performance in a 4-1 win against Manchester United showed they remain hungry for success despite their trophy-laden season under the Spaniard.
“I have said many times that the greatest form of success for a manager is that after winning three Premier Leagues in the last four years, we still run like we ran and we are still there to win again,” said Guardiola.
“You can get confused and think maybe you’re not who you are. But we can do it again and again and be up there after these boys have been at the top for so many years,” he added.
Guardiola said the final battle for the title with Liverpool, who are now six points behind leaders ManCity and have a game in hand, was another fight in an unforgettable duel.
“We are facing the toughest opponent I have ever faced in my career as a manager. To fight against them (Liverpool) and together with them to fight for trophies and titles, that is the biggest achievement I have ever done in my career,” he said.
ManCity completely dominated the second 45 minutes of Sunday night’s game after going 2-1 up at half-time, with their passing and movement very dominant against Ralf Ragnick’s side.
