Paramount Pictures together with Spyglass Media Group have just released the first trailer of Scream which is the fifth film in the iconic slasher franchise. The trailer features the return of Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, Dewey Riley, played by David Arquette, and Gale Weathers, played by Courteney Cox. The film is scheduled for release on January 14, 2022.
Trailer Scream it begins with the familiar ringing of the phone with fans of the franchise and ends with the grisly death of a teenage girl. In addition to several tense scenes and “explains” the film’s plot, this trailer also introduces viewers to a new character who must now face the threat of Ghostface’s return.
Scream directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett using a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. The film will reportedly ditch the meta-humor found in each of the previous films with a new creative team, but considering all the main stars returning, it should still feel like a sequel. Scream. Also back for Scream new this is is a star Scream 4, Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks. Other cast members include Kyle Gallner, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mikey Madison, Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, and Jenna Ortega. While the details and plot of Scream are still shrouded in mystery, it is reported that the film will follow the story of a woman who returns to her hometown to try to find out who has committed a series of heinous crimes.

“Twenty-five years after a series of brutal murders have shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new assassin is back wearing the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to relive secrets from the city’s deadly past.”
As we know, the first film directed by Wes Craven, released in 1996, made a big surprise on its debut and later helped to revive the slasher horror genre and become one of the highest grossing horror films of all time. The film then spawned three sequels.
