Wonder Woman actor Gal Gadot is reportedly in final negotiations with Disney to play the Evil Queen in a live-action adaptation Snow White. Gadot will play a role with Rachel Zeglerstar West Side Story who will play the main character.
Beautiful actress who is also a franchise alumni fast and furious will be coming soon in the Netflix action film titled Red Notice which also stars Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. Gal Gadot who will also work on Cleopatra with the director Wonder WomanPatty Jenkins is in “final stage negotiations” to play the iconic villain.
Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, Shazam: Fury of the Gods) has previously been announced to play the role of Snow White in the film, Film Snow White the new version will be directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) and will begin production in 2022. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, songwriters behind La La Land and The Greatest Showmanwill be writing a new song for the film.
This is definitely a very special project for Disney as it will be a re-do of the studio giant’s first animated film; after the film became a hit in 1938, a success that opened the tap for a series of fairy tale films that has not stopped since.
Snow White is just one of many live-action adaptations of the Disney animated film they’re working on. Next year there’s a movie Peter Pan & Wendy, directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight). Then in 2023 there is The Little Mermaid directed by Rob Marshall, which will star Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, and Javier Bardem. Then in the near future there will also be a sequel Jungle Book courtesy of Jon Favreau, a prequel Lion King by Barry Jenkins, and Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis.
